FALL RIVER, Mass. — David C. Deston, 64, lifelong resident of Fall River, passed away Jan. 13, 2017. He was the loving husband of Donna M. (Marshall) Deston. He was the father of Father David C. Deston Jr., parochial administrator of St. Anne’s Parish in Fall River.
David was born in Fall River and was a son of the late Harold C. and Anne S. (Smith) Deston.
David was employed as a firefighter with the City of Fall River for more than 31 years. He was a former Scoutmaster with Troop 15, in Fall River, and also a past member of the Bristol County Dart League. He enjoyed the time he spent at St. Joseph’s Parish Bible Study, was an outdoorsman, and also loved camping and fishing with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife and his son are a daughter, Jennifer M. Deston Barlow of Fall River; brothers, Robert Deston and his wife Linda of Connecticut, Gordon Deston and his wife Barbara of Delaware; grandson, Michael C. Deston, and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Alan Deston.
His funeral was held on Jan. 17, 2017 at 10 a.m. from the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson Street in Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 1335 North Main Street in Fall River.
Burial followed at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Fall River.
