QUEBEC, Ontario, Canada — Sister Blandine D’Amours (Sister Sainte-Blandine-Marie), age 89, passed away on March 25, at the mother house of the Sisters of Charity in Quebec, Canada after 69 years of religious life.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph-Félix D’Amours and the late Dorilda Desjardins, de Cacouna.
Sister D’Amours was a former administrator at Sacred Heart Home in New Bedford for many years.
She is survived by, in addition to members of her religious family, her sisters and brother-in-law: Lucille (Paul Grenier) of St. Léonard; Aline (late Zoël Raymond) of Rivière-du-Loup); Madeleine (late Marcel Bériault) of St. Leonard; Doris Blair (late Emilièn) of St. Albert (AB); Suzanne Trottier (late Maurice) of Montreal; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her wake and funeral was held from the mother house on March 28, with the Mass held in the chapel of the community. Interment took place at the cemetery of the community, à Notre-Dame-de-l’Éspérance, Quebec.
