Eucharistic reparation through the third apparition of the Angel of Peace

The consecutive apparitions of the Angel of Peace had the effect of forming the three shepherd children to live the words and example of the Angel more fully. After the three little shepherds had brought their flock to the place where the Angel had previously appeared, Lucia states in her memoirs, “As soon as we arrived there, we knelt down, with our foreheads touching the ground, and began to repeat the prayer of the Angel.”

Now in the year 2017, during the 100th anniversary of the apparition of Our Lady of Fatima, we can survey the balance sheet of the past century. On the dark side, we have lived through the havoc caused by the hatred of a world estranged from God as seen by more than 50 wars in that short period. …



Rosary prayer group meetings in Fairhaven

FAIRHAVEN, Mass. — The St. Damien Pro-Life Prayer Group has joined forces with the Legion of Mary, Queen of Peace Presidium, of St. Joseph’s Parish in Fairhaven to pray the Rosary on the 13th of each month in front of the Our Lady of Fatima statue at the corner of Spring and Adams Street. The Rosary has been recited with meditation on the 13th of the month beginning in May in honor of Our Lady’s apparitions in Fatima and to gain the indulgence granted by Pope Francis:

“To the faithful who visit with devotion a statue of Our Lady of Fatima solemnly exposed for public veneration in any church, oratory, or proper place during the days of the anniversary of the apparitions, on the 13th of each month from May to October 2017, and there devoutly participate in some celebration or prayer in honor of the Virgin Mary. In addition, the faithful must pray the Our Father, recite the Creed, and invoke Our Lady of Fatima."

The members of the St. Damien Prayer Group were inspired to undertake this devotion after hearing a catechesis delivered  by their moderator on the seers of Fatima. The Legion of Mary, Queen of Peace Presidium willingly joined forces in this joint endeavor to honor Our Lady of Fatima.

The next recitation of the Rosary will be held on September 13 at 3 p.m. in front of the statue at the corner of Spring and Adams street Fairhaven. All are welcome to join them.


Fatima centennial celebration planned in Taunton

TAUNTON, Mass. — Annunciation of the Lord Parish, 31 First Street in Taunton, will be celebrating the centennial of Our Lady of Fatima on Friday and Saturday, October 6-7

On Friday, October 6, there will be Mass at 8 a.m. followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament throughout the day. At 7 p.m. there will be a Holy Hour and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. 

On Saturday, October 7, the Feast of the Holy Rosary, Masses will be at 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. in English. The Feast Mass will be celebrated at 7 p.m. in Portuguese. Father James Ferry, retired pastor of Espirito Santo Parish in Fall River will be the celebrant. Deacon José H. Medina of St. Anthony’s Parish in Taunton will be the homilist. 

Following the Mass, there will be a candlelight procession and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. All are invited and welcome.
